aDAPT
aDAPT (a Defense Against Post Trauma) investigates how the notion of agency can be reconfigured by and for women recovering from sexual assault and abuse through the co-creation and assessment of documentary videos and interactive digital platforms that build resilient digital communities.
Situated within the research-creation practice of media and visual art, the project draws on theoretical findings to engage participating women survivors in developing shared self-representation videos and a technological outcome in the form of a mobile app that examines the potential for secure community engagement and interactivity.
Collaborators:
Dr. Richard Lachman, Associate Professor, Director, Transmedia Zone, RTA School of Media, Ryerson University
Dr. Janice Du Mont, Senior Scientist, Violence and Health Research Program, Women’s College Research Institute
