My Room
2012
video, experimental, 3:14 minutes
Made as part of experimental filmmaker Mike Hoolboom's class, The Practice, this short, meditative video loop questions boundaries between inside and out, camera and subject. Working with feminist theorist Karen Barad's idea that "apparatuses are dynamic (re)configurings of the world", I placed the camera on my stomach to let my breath determine pace and framing.
